Changing the world. One greeting card at a time.

How can a person change the world with one greeting at a time you ask? Great question.

Two local women may have found the answer. Check out the following article from the Grand Rapids Press. A great idea created by two wonderful women. What a blessing!

Oh baby that's cute!

Wow! It's been a long time since I posted a project. I made this card for a friend's baby shower last month. Scott and Emily are going to be great parents, and we can't wait to meet sweet baby Hannah.

I found some great baby paper by My Mind's Eye. I always love their patterns! I used this paper for a memory album I made for the mom-to-be. I'll post pictures of that project soon. :)

Wedding Card

I made this card for a little bridal shower gathering for a co-worker. I used stamps, rhinestones, and glitter. This card was my first attempt using a stamp with Martha Stewart's glue pad and glitter. It adds the perfect extra something. Thanks Jan!

Baby Dedication Frame

I made this frame for a baby dedication for sweet little Jack, who may be one of the cutest little boys in the world.

I used the bags, tags and more cartridge for the circle. And rub on stitching on the side piece. The blessing reads:

Please God...grant this little child your love as each new day appears and
grant the parents guidance and wisdom throughout the years.

Goin' to the Chapel: An Engagement Journal

I think that a wedding engagement is one of the busiest times in a woman's life. It's a time filled with lots of emotions, activities and decisions to make. With so many things happening at once, it's hard to remember everything that happens before that walk down the aisle. In a time where we communicate through email and text messages, what a gift to have a book filled with written words to commemorate that time.

I kept an engagement journal when my husband and I were getting married. We look back at it fondly, as it is filled with pictures of flower ideas, homes we looked at, and dresses I tried on, as well as the gushings of a blushing bride-to-be. So when a couple that we're friends with got engaged, I knew that I needed to make an engagement journal for them as well.

The journal was made out of a sketchbook, which lends itself to sketching of ideas or love letters. I decorated various pages throughout the book with different cut outs and stamps.

Danica's Family Album: COMPLETED!

The following pictures are from the photo album that I made for Danica. I posted a preview a few posts ago. I was happy to complete the project, and get the pictures out of my basement. I kept waking up from nightmares of my basement flooding, destroying all of the one-of-a-kind family pictures that I had in my possession. Phew...crisis avoided. The album was completed, and all of the pictures are safely in Danica's hands. :)

Each page has a different quote about family and/or ancestors. I used a variety of catridges, as well as stamps. I experimented some with the rub-on stitching, and I love it! At first glance, it really does look real.

Danica, I was honored that you asked me to create this album for you!

Felt Flower Belt

Last night I sat down to create a flower belt. Gulp...a flower belt you say? Relax...it's not a chain of daisies, but rather one felt flower on a ribbon. Cute idea huh?

A co-worker came to work last week with a cute belt over a cardigan sweater. That belt was the inspiration for this project. So last night the idea finally came to fruition.

I used my Tags, Bags and more cartridge to cut out the grey circles, and the fuschia flowers. It didn't turn out quite how I thought it would, but it does act as a good jumping off point. And inspired me to keep trying new things. :)

Thanks for looking!

Scrapbook Preview

Danica, this little preview is for you. :)

I am in the process of completing a scrapbook for a former employee. I've been working on it for a couple months. I'm really happy with how it's turning out. I hope that it's something that she'll treasure. The photo album is a collection of family pictures.

This page is the last page of the book. It's a journal page for Danica to write down a family story. I utlized different patterned paper, stamps and stitched rub-ons. The quote reads, "If you don't recount your family history, it will be lost. Honor your own stories and tell them too. The tales may not seem important, but they are what binds families and makes us who we are."

Amanda's Bachelorette Party!

We had Amanda's bachelorette party this weekend. It was a huge success! We planned a day-long scavenger hunt filled with her favorite things. Amanda was given a clue card at each location for the next stop.

Stop #1:
I hosted breakfast at my house, complete with an egg casserole and tuxedo strawberries. I made the "love muffin" boxes, which were filled with chocolate chocolate chip muffins.

Stop #2:
For the next stop, we went to Naked Plates. We all painted a dessert plate for Amanda which she gets to keep as a keepsake. This is the plate that I painted. I hope it turns out! :)

Stop #3:
Off to lunch for the next stop! We had a picnic lunch at a nearby park.

Stop #4:
We stopped @ Robinette's Apple Orchard to sample their wines.

Stop #5:
Another stop that involved food. Ha ha. Off to the Blue Water Grill for dinner. The food was delicious, and you just can't beat the view.

Stop #6:
A few of the girls saved room for dessert at Cold Stone Creamery.

Stop #7:
We relaxed at a showing of Toy Story 3. It was very funny and nice to sit down for a while. There were lots of laughs, and there may or may not have been a few tears at the end of the movie. Don't judge people. :)

Stop #8:
Last stop of the night. Back to the Matron of Honor's house for presents! We chatted and recapped the day.

I think that the bride had a great time. I know I did! We managed to pull it all off.

Weddings and birthdays...oh my!

The following cards were also designed for the card sets that will be given away this weekend. The wedding cards match the colors of the wedding, in hopes that the winners will give them to the bride and groom.

I used doodlecharms cart, as well as the sweetheart cart. Rhinestones, ribbon and stamps were added for embellishments. I've really enjoyed playing around with shadow cuts. I think they really highlight the final product.
