Baby Dedication Frame

I made this frame for a baby dedication for sweet little Jack, who may be one of the cutest little boys in the world.

I used the bags, tags and more cartridge for the circle. And rub on stitching on the side piece. The blessing reads:

Please God...grant this little child your love as each new day appears and
grant the parents guidance and wisdom throughout the years.

Goin' to the Chapel: An Engagement Journal

I think that a wedding engagement is one of the busiest times in a woman's life. It's a time filled with lots of emotions, activities and decisions to make. With so many things happening at once, it's hard to remember everything that happens before that walk down the aisle. In a time where we communicate through email and text messages, what a gift to have a book filled with written words to commemorate that time.

I kept an engagement journal when my husband and I were getting married. We look back at it fondly, as it is filled with pictures of flower ideas, homes we looked at, and dresses I tried on, as well as the gushings of a blushing bride-to-be. So when a couple that we're friends with got engaged, I knew that I needed to make an engagement journal for them as well.

The journal was made out of a sketchbook, which lends itself to sketching of ideas or love letters. I decorated various pages throughout the book with different cut outs and stamps.

Felt Flower Belt

Last night I sat down to create a flower belt. Gulp...a flower belt you say? Relax...it's not a chain of daisies, but rather one felt flower on a ribbon. Cute idea huh?

A co-worker came to work last week with a cute belt over a cardigan sweater. That belt was the inspiration for this project. So last night the idea finally came to fruition.

I used my Tags, Bags and more cartridge to cut out the grey circles, and the fuschia flowers. It didn't turn out quite how I thought it would, but it does act as a good jumping off point. And inspired me to keep trying new things. :)

Thanks for looking!

Assorted Card Sets

I made the following cards for 3 different sets of 4 cards, that are going to be prizes at a bridal shower. Each set has a birthday, thank you, baby, and wedding card.

Challenge #32: Going Away Album

This project was done for my college roommate. Although she's not "technically" my family, she might as well be. She's my "sistah from anotha mistah".

Tomorrow is the going away party for my college roommate who is moving out of state. I volunteered to make her a "going away" album. Guests have been encouraged to bring their favorite picture of themselves with Melissa, and they'll also be invited to write a message of good luck to her for the book. There are over 60 people coming, so I had to make a lot of different spaces for writing, and pictures which I don't know the size of yet. That has proven to be a little tricky. I hope that I have enough space.

Even though she's getting this tomorrow, I'm too excited to wait to put pictures up. I hope that she loves it!

You can click on any or all of the pictures for larger images. Feel free to leave a comment if you have time. :)

Ice cream & babies...

I had an unexpected free night last night. So of course I did any time I have unexpected free time...CRAFT! The baby shower card is for a friend, but the "just because" card was just a whim. It came together really nicely.

'Just Because' Card
I used Martha Stewart paper, as well as a Martha Stewart trim punch. I used my Stretch Your Imagination cartridge for the ice cream cone. I was feeling a little springy last night. Must be all the sunshine!

Baby Shower Card
I used the Doodlecharm cartridge for the bottle, as well as the tags, bags and more cartridge for the circles.

Happy Healing!

I made these cards for my boss, and my grandmother. They are each recovering from surgery. I liked how the first one turned out, so I made the second as a variation off of the same idea.

I used the wild cards cartridge, as well as tags cartridge. Of course I added buttons, and used a flower stamp to add a little extra something.
